Menu

The purpose of this page is to show that I promote the use of nutritious and tasty meals and snacks for the children in my child care program. We choose to follow a seasonal schedule for the following reasons:

  • Seasonal food is usually fresher and tastes better than food that's out of season. This is because seasonal produce is picked when it's ripe and doesn't need to be transported long distances.
  • Seasonal produce is usually more nutritious because it's allowed to ripen naturally on the plant.
  • Buying seasonal food supports local farmers and growers and helps keep money in the local economy.
  • Eating seasonal food reduces your carbon footprint because it doesn't require as much energy to grow and transport.
  • Eating seasonally naturally leads to a more varied diet throughout the year.
  • Eating seasonal food helps provide your body with the nutrients it needs and can improve your overall health.

Below you will find my menus for the entire year broken down into seasons. Also, please email me with any questions or comments you have regarding the meals and snacks that I prepare and serve the children attending my child care program.
